The Scottish Society of Nebraska Foundation
2023 Scholarship
The Scottish Society of Nebraska (SSN) founded in 1970 has served as a platform for folks living in the Omaha Metropolitan Area to learn about Scottish history and culture, and to experience old and new traditions. Our old traditions include the highly popular Burns Night to celebrate the life and poetry of Scotland’s most famous poet - Robert Burns, and a celebration of Scotland’s patron Saint, St. Andrew with a formal dining experience. New traditions launched in recent years include a Scot’s Halloween where we learn how Halloween is observed in Scotland, and the Scottish Travelogue where members share their adventures from vacations in Scotland. This year, we are excited to embark on our newest tradition by partnering with the Scottish Society of Nebraska Foundation to award two $500 Legend scholarships and one $1000 Wings scholarship.
The SSN looks forward to congratulating the lucky recipients and hope you will join us as we continue to provide an opportunity to share and learn about Scottish history, customs, and traditions.
